This was one of the first projects and I wish that I had the time (and frankly inclination) to do another one. I would be more careful with the cuts and assembly. Things like making sure you arent cutting the center of the pencil mark and are on the right side, those little mistakes add up and whern you start putting together the final pieces THERE THEY ARE!. It was great for experiance and it got years of use.
It took about 3 sheets of 3/4" oak plywood, many many little pieces like hinges and drawer pulls and lots of other little bits. I got the plan for it out of woodworking magazine.
I built this for my nephew and it turned out OK but maybe a little tight in some of the drawer slides. if building another one I would leave another 1/16" clearance in the opening for the drawers and drawer slides.
These was the replacement for 3 tables we used to have in the living room. I salvaged the legs from the original tables and built the 3 new tops. The tops were all constructed from Maple for the two outside boards and walnut for the centre board.
